Welcome

WE ARE OVERSUBSCRIBED! THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR BIENNIAL CONFERENCE. DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND WE MUST CLOSE OFF REGISTRATIONS.

Welcome to the 2018 Biennial State Palliative Care Conference

A very warm welcome to all delegates to Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and Kiama in particular as we journey into the many challenges confronting palliative care at the Palliative Care NSW Biennial State Conference Riding the Waves of Change.

Palliative Care has ridden many ‘waves of change’ over the past 50 years or so. Our keynote speakers will take you on this journey looking at the development of hospice care through to the integration of the palliative approach into all disciplines providing care for the dying.

We also expect a bright light to be shone on changes that must be met head on if we are not to be bowled over in the turbulence of change.

While you are visiting this glorious part of the world, please take advantage of the coastal walks, the great cafes and quirky shops, the local produce and friendly people in this area we call home.

And of course, please take time to visit the Palliative Care Art Exhibition in Kiama’s main street, which provides a unique perspective on the Waves of Change as experienced by members of the community.

We hope you enjoy the ride.
